Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement 2022

This statement has been published in accordance with Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (Transparency in Supply Chains) Regulation 2015 (the ‘’Act’’).  It sets out how Medichecks identifies and assesses all potential modern slavery risks related to its business and what steps it takes to ensure that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking either in its own business or its supply chains.  This statement relates to actions and activities from 1st of January to 31st of December each year and is reviewed annually.


Medichecks is a consumer health care company which empowers people to take control of their health and make positive changes to their lifestyle. Its mission is to be a part of everybody’s journey to better health.

Over 46 million people are thought to be victims of slavery and trafficking across the world today and this number continues to rise, causing endless misery and suffering.  Medichecks cares passionately about the prevention of modern slavery and human trafficking both within its own activities and across its supply chains. It has enacted policies and processes to prevent it happening and to take action should any evidence of it be found. 

Organisational Structure and Supply Chains

Medichecks currently operates solely within the United Kingdom.  The company currently has supply arrangements with companies that operate in the EU and outside the EU and also with UK companies which source supplies, materials and raw products from other countries around the world.

The board of directors of Medichecks together with its procurement professionals assess (on an ongoing basis) the situation in the countries in which it has any form of supply, sourcing or other commercial arrangement whether direct, or indirect.  Information is obtained from various sources to inform this assessment and it helps the board to identify if any risks of modern slavery or human trafficking are apparent or likely to impact on Medichecks’ operations.

Any potential or identified risks are documented, along with any appropriate actions or remedies which need to be implemented.  Risks are categorised as high, medium or low.

New partnerships and supply chain arrangements are also assessed against these criteria as part of the company’s procurement process. 

Managing our Key Suppliers

Medichecks is committed to ensuring that its key suppliers meet the highest standards of probity and ethics in relation to modern slavery and human trafficking.  Key suppliers are required to demonstrate their commitment to the avoidance and elimination of modern slavery and human trafficking through completion of the company’s Supplier Self-Assessment Questionnaire and supporting documentation.  The company will not enter a commercial relationship or may terminate an existing one where it feels there are material concerns about modern slavery and human trafficking which have not been adequately addressed by the supplier.


Responsibility for Medichecks’ anti-slavery initiatives rests with the board of directors.  These responsibilities cover company policies and procedures, risk assessments, investigations, due diligence, remedial actions and colleague awareness and training.

Relevant Policies

Medichecks operates the following policies that support its approach to the identification of modern slavery risks and the steps to be taken to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in its operations:

Whistleblowing: Medichecks encourages all of its colleagues, customers and stakeholders to report any concerns relating to the direct activities of the company, or any element of its supply chains.  Colleagues are required to report any concerns to a director of the company, in the first instance.

Colleague Conduct: Medichecks makes it clear to colleagues the standards and behaviours expected of them when representing the organisation.  The company strives to uphold the highest standards of colleague conduct and ethical behaviour in its operations and in managing its supply chain.

Recruitment: Medichecks uses only specified, reputable employment agencies and its own internal selection and recruitment processes to ensure any prospective new colleague has the right to work in the United Kingdom.

Safeguarding:  Medichecks provides all colleagues with Safeguarding training in order to heighten awareness of vulnerable adults and children and identify safeguarding concerns, and confidently approach safeguarding issues appropriately.

Due Diligence

Medichecks undertakes due diligence when considering new key suppliers and reviews its existing supply arrangements at least annually.  The company's due diligence process includes reviewing the Supplier Self-Assessment Questionnaire and any relevant information obtained from other sources or provided by the company’s colleagues.

Colleague Awareness and Responsibilities

Medichecks requires all colleagues to complete mandatory specific training designed to help them understand Medichecks’ policy on modern slavery and human trafficking, identify signs of modern slavery and human trafficking, report concerns and access the support that is available to them.

This statement has been approved by the board of directors of Ltd, which will review and update it annually.
